I trust that my commentary will fall within the topic covered by the excellent article and also the valued responses to it.

In the United States we don’t have a health care system. It’s a disease management system that cannot afford for people to be healthy. Obviously dominated primarily by the pharmaceutical companies, we are bombarded by statements that particular products will accomplish specific results, implying a cure. I question the belief that one can utilize anything man made that knows what to do and specifically where to go in the human body to solve the problem in question. To have that capability the product would have to be self aware and knowing. That a man made product knows how to do anything would be analogous to expecting a hammer to have the skill necessary to drive a nail into a piece of wood. Water does not know how to cure a thirst, but the body knows what to do with the water. The body began as a single cell and knew how to create itself in all directions at the same time. A primary mandate of the body is obvious and that is to be healthy. What are we putting into the body that supports it being healthy or not putting into the body that it needs to function properly? What kind of thoughts do we entertain? The body is a product of Nature not a product of man. The body can tell the difference between what is true (has existence) and what is false (lacks existence) while the human mind cannot discern the difference at all and never seems to be short of opinions and endless commentary about almost everything. How else can someone be put under hypnosis and told to put their arm in a fire that doesn’t actually exist and still get blisters…. or someone with multiple personality disorder change to an alternative personality and have their cancer disappear in less than an hour only to have it return when they revert to their original personality.

In following up, it is well documented that every disease known to man, including those considered incurable and or fatal, has gone into remission and remissions are not rare as most people are led to believe. They are in fact quite common and in many cases can be intentionally induced.

PS: The AIDS hypothesis has been scientifically refuted and it is now being slowly accepted that the primary symptoms of AIDS are induced by the medical drugs being imposed as the so called treatment.

I haven’t seen you as a patient, but there are many causes of neuropathy, which can be divided into polyneuropathies (many nerves) and mononeuropathies (one nerve) involved:

1)Diabetic neuropathy (look up benfotiamine (lipid soluble form of the vitamin thiamine which prevents nonenzymatic glycosylation and can help) as well as capsaicin for the itching-burning of diabetic neuropathy.

2)Mononeuritis multiplex

3)Inherited neuropathies: Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, Dejerine-Sottas Disease, Friedreich’s Ataxia, Refsum’s Disease, Porphyria

4)Associated with systemic/metabolic disorders: diabetic neuropathy, associated with uremia (kidney problems; look at BUN (blood urea nitrogen) and creatinine in blood work), alcoholism and nutritional deficiency (check for vitamin B-12 deficiency on blood work, B-12 and serum methylmalonic acid, also thiamine deficiency)

5)Polyneuropathy in association with multiple myeloma or benign monoclonal gammopathy

6)neuropathy with leprosy is pretty rare but involves sensory loss

7)AIDS polyneuropathy

8)neuropathies associated with sarcoidosis, polyarteritis, and rheumatoid arthritis

9)Toxic neuropathies: exposure to pesticides, acrylamides in industry, organophosphorus insecticides, solvents, heavy metals such as arsenic, thallium, mercury (in teeth fillings), lead, drugs such as dilantin, isoniazid, vincristine, high doses of vitamin pyridoxine. Look at environmental occupational histories. If someone is on Isoniazid for tuberculosis, pyridoxine supplementation helps.

10)Sensorimotor polyneuropathy with malignant disease, possibly undetected as yet

11)Guillain Barre Syndrome

12)Chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy

13)Mononeuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome, pressure on ulnar nerve “funny bone”, pressure from herniated disc in back, Bell’s Palsy or facial paralysis

These are some key words to look up to help your doctor make the diagnosis.
